Aroma Therapy Massage

Fragrant oils extracted from herbs, flowers and fruits are used in Aroma Therapy to naturally enhance the benefits of massage. The effects of having a treatment can last up to 48 hours, depending on the oils used. The skin may feel slightly oily, but the overall effect is one of deep calm and relaxation.

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on deeper layers of muscles. It is a deep pressure massage and concentrated on area of tension in order to reach the sub – layer of muscles. Bands of rigid, painful tissue in muscles and tendons- also called adhesions, can disrupt circulation and cause inflammation. Deep tissue massage is especially beneficial in breaking down these adhesions.

There is usually some stiffness or pain after a deep tissue massage, but it subsides within a day or so.

Swedish massage is the most popular kind of massage worldwide. It was created back in 1812 in the University of Stockholm by a physiologist named Henri Peter Ling. One of the prime goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. Swedish massage uses long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. It is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, improving circulation and flexibility while decreasing muscle toxins. A variety of studies have linked Swedish massage to a number of benefits, such as reduction in knee arthritis, lowering blood pressure, improving immune system, reducing headaches and helping to elevate the symptoms of fibromyalgia.
